One of the things parents say they like most about Montessori education is how it’s centered on the individual child, that each child is receiving lessons that are perfectly suited to where they are academically, socially, and developmentally. As Montessori teachers, it’s impossible for us at Montessori School of Duluth to imagine giving a lesson that’s appropriate and challenging to thirty children at once.
A girl came into Montessori School of Duluth’s elementary as a fourth grader. She hadn’t been in Montessori before. Her mother asked her how she felt about being in the classroom at a new school with a different style of education and she said, “I’m never bored.”
Our goal in Montessori is for children to be engaged, inspired, creative, self-motivated and compassionate learners.
